Build Interactive Mini Game

One thing I've learned from making a mini game is that the code has to be spot on , in the right place if not it could mess up your game .I've also learned to really check the way you put your code in . I have learned more ways there can be a mistake in the code from my game  .It changes the way I look at other games I play because I realize how much work the creator took making it and adding cool affects like sounds , background , score , ect . By making this game I also think how they made it look fun and cool . That's one thing I thought of during my game because I want people to like playing it and really like it.

Play To Learn Part 2

Our game genre was Hidden Object so we could pick our own type of game genre. Some things I learned from other games is different ways to make a game. Like for example I was going to do the 13 colonies , when I was done and saw other games that had the same topic. 1 was really creative because the person who made the game drew all 13 colonies and hid them behind buildings.Another one had weapons you might  use or find during the 13 colonies.I think what made my game harder for me to come up with was I didn't have any ideas what my game could do or be like. So if I was to see some examples of it I could get a better understanding of what I could have done. 1 game feature that really stood out to me was the  message box. When I first saw it I thought it was really cool because when I first read about it I didn't really get it so when I saw it working in a game I thought maybe I could use it next time.

Present Hidden Object Game

          The Big Idea : My learning topic about History. Back in the 1800's - 1900's people lifestyle was different then our's now so the important thing I want the player to learn is the things they had a long time ago.

          Research : The kind of research I did was looking at food they grew themselves that we buy.I also looked at transportation and life on farms.I learned that some farms that grew their own food needed to be watched and cared for often so other things won't ruin or it would be taken care or properly.

         Making Decisions :  At first I was thinking about doing it on the 13 colonies but I thought it would take me forever to draw out all 13 colonies so I decided to just do the lifestyle of people back in the day.

         Mastering Programming : Some game ingredients like hidden object list and game background music helped me because it made the game much cooler that the name disappears when you click on the object and the music makes the game less boring because you hearing music and not just trying to find objects.

          Overcoming Challenges :  I think making the game educational was hard because I didn't know how to make the game look like it's learning topic which was history and making the game ingredients work. I overcame it by just working throughout the game and re-reading the lesson,watching the video,and asking for help. I'm most proud of my hidden object list because I was the first in the class and grade to finish it and make it work.

Game Ingredients

Some things I overcame was making my background music because it wouldn't work when I played it in flash but when I uploaded what I had to the wiki it worked.Another thing I overcame was managing a object list.At first it was hard but then I got it.All I had to do was copy the code then add in the object instance name.It was really cool when It came out.But I didn't finish some things because they wouldn't work.Other than that my game turned out a little better than what I expected.

Hidden Object

When I first started using flash I thought it was really cool and it was different for me because I never used anything like it before.So when I continued using it more and more it was getting easier and more interesting for me.Now I can do many things in flash but I still have hard times because I don't remember some stuff or I don't know how to do it.But I always find help or figure it out.I don't really know what kind of game action I would like to add next.I guess it would be to add a detail tool to get good detail without wasting all your time trying to make it perfect with the regular tools.

Draw Background

Drawing my background was confusing because I drew my objects then I thought of something new to draw.I took away some of my objects I drew because it either didn't really go good with it or I thought it doesn't match the topic.My game is about a town of one of the 13 colonies so it took me a while to think of the things in the background.Until I just thought to do something simple but hide the objects in good.The background was easy but the hard things is finding places to hide the hidden objects in them.So I have to really think about it or change the background up a little.

Paper Prototype Part 1

Making a paper prototype helps me draw my ideas and put them the way I think of it in my head onto paper and it's more better than drawing first on computer because it can take longer and you can't draw certain things with the right detail.Also because it's a better way to put your objects where you want it.Plus you can always start over and use the ideas you got and put it on the new paper.It has helped me solved a lot of problems like what it's going to look like.Like before I would just draw my first idea and I would edit it and then that would be it.I couldn't put my ideas out like I know now.

Plan Game Scene

The thing that excites me about my game is making it in flash and playing it when its done.My game is going to have one of the towns from the colony and then you have to find the important things needed in that town to survive.My vision for my game is to have different levels and each level has a different town you have to explore.So there are gonna be 13 levels.If I make that many levels or I just do the 5 most important.

Play to Learn Part 1

What I learned from playing these games is to take time and draw because it makes the game be played more because the player might like the illustrations and might want to use some of my ideas into their game.Some ideas I got from the Kitty Math game was to make a little movie into my game in the beginning.

Choose Learning Topic

I chose history, because I'm really interested in the topic and I like learning about it so I think it would be a great and fun subject to make into a game and teach other students more about history.Also because there a lot of fun educational ideas you can make using history into a game.Right now we are learning about the 13 colonies.Some ideas I got were in the hidden object game I could make little drawings that relate to the 13 colonies and then you have to match them up with the right colony.Another idea I got was to make the 13 colonies and you have to put them in order.I like the hidden object idea because I like playing those kind of games and would love to learn how to make them.It's also a great way I could make a educational game fun and hard.

1st Month Of School

     So far the first month of school has been fun.The first weeks of school was crazy because the classes we mixed up and there was like 40 students in one class.Then we got our schedule changed,I liked my old scheduel because then we got new schedules that everybody hated.We had some classes with our friends and some classes without them.It even got worse,the first friday we had a lot of students got in trouble for skinny jeans.They got mad at a lot of  kids for tight skinny jeans & they even got mad at skinny jeans that weren't tight.Even though the first month of school was bad I got to see my old friends & made new ones.
     Some of the new teachers are cool.Others are ok.I miss my old teachers though.The new school is totally different.The school is way more strict than last year or the year before.I miss the old school.The school is really boring now & I dont like the new changes.I think the school got completely ruined this year.I wish they would trust us and take some of the rules away.Or at least believe that we will be good.
    The only changes I like about the school is the new campus because now we have a gym,a bigger hall way,and now we have a two story building.Our old school capmus was small and there was a lot of students that had to fit in it.So the new school is a big & good change to us.I heard that we are only going to have 2 dances this year.Thats messed up because we love the dances.Plus we pay $5.00 to get in plus if we get hungry or thirsty we pay them more for drinks and snacks so it helps them with money.

I think the documentary is about healthy food over junk food and why it's good for you.

I think the title implies that healthy food is good for you and you should eat more of it.
Notes:

They talked about how every minute 1 person dies of cancer.

15 people a day die of cancer.

The 2 main diseases are cancer and diabetes and about 1 million people die of that a year.

In 1950 scientist still believed we needed more protein.

They found that it's better to eat foods that aren't animal meat,dairy,and eggs.

But others would disagree.Some people would think that we need animal meat so we can get the nutrients that we can't get in other foods.

Scientist believe that animal meat increases cancer from it's protein.

Nutrients from animals increase cancer growth and nutrients from plants decrease cancer growth.

To some people plants are the medicine to health.

Mostly everything you eat is made with "High Fructose Corn Syrup".

"High Fructose Corn Syrup" is a cheaper sweetener that is used in foods to make them get flavor and taste better instead of sugar.

Final Game

Team Name: Awesome Gurls
Title : Animal Abuse Rescuers 
Topic : Social Issue
Learning Goal: To teach people to take care and cherish all animals because if you don't they could die and then later on might even become extinct.
The player will get to the panda before time runs out so they can save it from the people who destroy their homes.This is how the player can learn to save the animals.
I would like to have the bad guys move around and try to stop the player from getting to the panda and add more levels that specify the real purpose of the game which is to take care of animals.
The most challenging part of the game was making the buttons work because we have to get the right code and make sure we did it  right,making the characters move ,and thinking about what we could do to the game to make it better or make it relate to our topic/social issue.
I'm most proud of that we made the characters move and I figured out how to make them move with the code.

Respect

What does it mean? What does it look like? 
Respect means to be nice and to care.To show respect in a classroom would be to be nice and listen to the teacher and show respect to your classmates would be is to be nice and not mean.To show respect in the hallways would be no pushing or shoving,no yelling,and no playing so that way no one gets hurt.To show respect in the computer lab would be to not mess with anybody else's files that are on the computer,listen to the teacher,to lift the chairs and not slide them on the ground,check out a mouse or head phones without permission.During breakfast and lunch a good way to show respect would be not to throw food or play with it,respect the cafeteria monitors,and say thank you.When we have visitors the best way to show respect is to continue working on whatever were doing so that they know we are dedicated to our work.When we visit other places we should not destroy their property and listen to what they are saying and do what they ask us.

Nike

So far I think the way people are being treated is unfair and they should treat the people that treat them the same.The places where they were sad and I feel real sorry for them because that's not home where they can come after working at the Sweatshops for hours then having to come home and sleep on a mattress that's way to thin to feel relaxed or especially when it rains having all the dump and waste of other people right outside their front door.I don't know how those people can survive on just 1.25 a day after working 8 or more hours.It's just sad to know if you buy something to bathe with you can't eat or can't be clean.I can't even believe how cruel and  just plain out mean those people are.They don't live like these people do or even have one clue what they are putting their workers through.I think the guy that didn't wanna talk to Jim has a lot of things to hide and that's why he kept saying "No".Him and others have to realize people just can't live off of 1.25 a day and be able to eat,buy clothes,and be clean.There's a lot that famous people can do when they earn money for just wearing Nike.It annoys me when famous people say "Oh I feel sorry for the people in poverty or the people that suffer...I wish I can help them" or "I wanna give a shout out to the people in need".What?? they CAN help them they can show their appreciation by going and visiting them or give them money instead of thinking of your selfish self and going and buying stuff for you like $1,000 pair of shoes that you are only gonna where 1 in your life or a $500,000 car.Give back to the people in need and show you care.Instead of saying all of these lie to the tabloids and making everybody believe these lies.They can change other peoples lives.


Nike 2
I think that Micheal Moore was really trying his hardest to convince Phil Knight to come to Indonesia but he didn't because he was going to have people questioning him about Nike Sweatshops and his company would suffer but that's a good thing because people wouldn't have to work in them.It's also bad because un-employed people won't eat or be clean and have an even grater chance or dying.So that's why I think its unfair.By having sweatshops its just shows how sad Nike company is and when they get discovered its not gonna look good on Nike's behalf.Their company will go down on it's business and 


That's messed up that they are trapped and can't leave their job.They can't even quit because they have to pay so much money than they get paid just to get their passports.They have no way in getting out of the horrible job because they need a whole lot more money just to pay Nike 3 years worth of lots of money and get their passports.The Nike people are greedy it sucks that they can pay Tiger Woods millions of dollars for years just to wear and be "The Face Of Nike"But in yet Nike can't even pay the workers who spend enough of more than their time more than $6.00 a day.I think they are so greatful and happy that channel 7 got them moved to private apartments  with their own bed,shower,toilets,and place to relax.So now they can live in a much happier place and know they don't have to stay in the nasty old places they once lived in.
